I focus on virtual imagery and landscape narratives, rethinking the relationship between humanity and nature amidst the digital wave. In my painting practice, electronic images are fragmented and reassembled; the surface characteristics of objects gradually blur, and the referents of the images dissolve, attempting to construct a kind of “ideal landscape.” This reflects on the diverse and hybrid visual experiences of our era, as well as the layered memories of images oscillating between the virtual and the real.
[Landscape] The series of works reimagines common elements of natural landscapes—mountains, plants, water, and air. Floating fragments encircle layered mountain ranges, flowing waters rush forth, light mists drift in and dissipate, and snow collapses in swathes. The artistic language is drawn from the observation and extraction of virtual imagery, seemingly mirroring the present-day us—immersed in daily life nearly overwhelmed by internet images, where bodily experiences are mediated by intricate memories, forming a unique perception and imagination of the world.
